Mount Zion is a church with a rich heritage. In 1817, the original church (named Shiloh Baptist Church), was established on this same seven acre plot. The original building burned in 1832, and was re-built and re-named Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Over the past 20 years the church has experienced considerable growth. An additional 10 acres have been purchased. Two buildings have been added to the original. The latest, a transitional building which houses worship facilities, a choir suite and additional classrooms, opened in 1999. Just as Mt. Zion looks back upon a long, rich history, it looks forward to a promising future.
